About Me

I am an oceanographer at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) at UC San Diego taking the early research and development done in the academic arena into practice. Specifically, I help bring new operational capacity to those working in austere environments. This builds off years of analytics experience focused on actionable outcomes for both the scientific and US government sponsor communities.

My research component focuses on the physics of the nearshore environment around islands and the ecosystems they house. I use an array of oceanographic instrumentation and numerical models combining algorithm development, signal processing, time series analysis, and fluid mechanics to study how the ocean changes in space and time. My work is done under the direction of Dr. Eric Terrill in the Coastal Observing Research and Development Center at SIO.
